Who is a Creative Perfumer?
A creative perfumer is like a composer who brings together different notes, thereby creating ‘music for the nose’. More specifically, a creative perfumer creates unique perfume compositions by blending various fragrance ingredients.
What is the job all about?
This job involves ingredient selection, formula creation, blending, dilution and sensory evaluation. Some of the prerequisites for becoming a creative perfumer include a keen sense of smell, creativity, basic understanding of the chemical interaction between fragrance ingredients, patience and ability to adapt as per changing customer requirements.
