The “Skill Training in Fragrance Formulations for Wellness Products” has created a special opportunity for the women in Manipur. ‘The Skill Training in Fragrance Formulation for Wellness Products’ organized by Hindu College for three weeks was one of the best opportunities I have ever got in my life. I got to gain a lot of knowledge from both theory and practical classes. I firmly believe that this training will be of great benefit to me and to the people of my state, Manipur at large. Talking about Hindu College, the college has all the facilities required for the training/course in perfumery. They also have the best and well experienced teachers. Encouraging every individual to take up this course, grab the opportunity and get a successful career in fragrance industry.
The 21-day perfumery skill training at Hindu College was an enriching experience, which included both theoretical and hands-on sessions from experienced professors in fragrance formulation. It helped in understanding the nuances of different fragrance components and their interactions at the college’s state-of-the-art laboratories. With a significant growth in the fragrance industry and an increasing demand for skilled professionals, this course would open various career paths in entrepreneurship and others as well.
The Program struck the perfect balance between informative and interactive. All the tips felt directly applicable and often gave me that 'aha' moment where everything finally clicked. The facilitator did a great job of engaging everyone - there was a lot to learn from him just by example - while never pressuring us to participate more than we were comfortable. I participated in the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Sensory Science in Education: Flavors & Fragrances awareness” to update myself on technological advancement. I gained a unique experience; I did and connected with professionals all over the country in the beautiful environment of Hindu College. I feel that this course will be beneficial for the students who want to learn new skills and make a career in the field of Flavors & Fragrances. Looking forward to more such kind of new and innovative experiences from you all. Thank you so much to all organizing committee members of Hindu College (DU), MH-MMTTC (DU) and DBT.
The whole 3 weeks in Hindu College exceeded my expectations and came as a surprise. The course was structured perfectly and we learned all that needed to know to start making basic everyday necessities related to fragrances and perfumes. We got to understand how the olfactory system works and also how important it is as a perfumer to understand the olfactory emotions which are simply a reflection of our memories and how we link certain scents to them. The college infrastructure, from classrooms to labs were well installed and managed. Getting to witness and experiment distillation was truly a lifetime experience and opportunity. We were all captivated with the extraction of different types of oils and techniques. All the essential topics for building a perfume brand were covered along the way. The course encouraged independent research and exploration at many points to align the learning with one's personal goal and adapt to one's own environment. The teachers and the team were amazing, we connected really well. Filled with gratitude, I embarked on my journey home, carrying over dozens of ideas and knowledge that can serve as the foundation for my own carrier.
The skill training in fragrance formulation conducted by Hindu College, University of Delhi has helped me gain specialized techniques & principles for making essential oils, perfume and basic toiletries. Green chemistry was emphasised and taught intensely as it is the need of the hour. Talking about the college infrastructure, from the classroom to the lab and hostel, you name it and everything is all well maintained. And about the professors, no doubt that the Chemistry Department of Hindu College is the best.
